Building a Future of Dignity and Independence

A community where adults with autism can thrive long after we're gone

Learn Our Vision

Do you worry about what will happen to your autistic child after you're gone?

Do you fear they could end up alone, isolated, or placed in a state-run group home with no real sense of belonging?

I do too.

That fear is what brought me here—and what led to this idea.

Let's imagine something better together.

A Different Kind of Future

My vision is to help create a community designed specifically for mostly independent adults with autism and other developmental disabilities—adults who just need a little assistance. A place that feels like home, not an institution.

Our Foundation

The goal is to establish a nonprofit organization that would:

  • Acquire land through grants and donations
  • Build small, alternative-style homes (such as tiny homes or accessible cottages)
  • Include a small staff residence for on-site support
  • Create a safe, supportive neighborhood where residents live with dignity and independence

Not a Group Home

This would be a community of families helping families.

A place where our children can live safely, surrounded by people who understand them, with purpose and belonging.

Built with Purpose

Every element designed to support independence, community, and meaningful engagement—from accessible architecture to opportunities for contribution and growth.

How It Would Work

Daily Support & Services

The nonprofit would coordinate comprehensive support to ensure residents thrive:

  • Coordinate with Special Needs Trust (SNT) trustees to manage rent and allowances
  • Provide assistance with daily living—grocery shopping, appointments, transportation
  • Plan social and recreational activities
  • Help residents live as independently as possible

Meaningful Activities

We would work toward making the community partially self-sustaining through:

  • Flower gardens that supply local florists
  • Beekeeping and honey sales
  • Small farmers' market projects
  • Other meaningful activities residents can take part in

These projects help with operating costs while giving residents a sense of purpose, routine, and pride.

Why This Matters

Most of us are terrified of the same thing:

That when we're no longer here to protect our children, they will lose the only stable world they've ever known.

This project is about changing that story.

It's about building a place where our kids can live safely, surrounded by people who understand them, long after we're gone.

Together, we can build the future our children deserve.
